Are you currently working in the care industry and looking for a change? Bring your skills into the classroom and make a difference in children’s lives!
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our school community as Teaching Assistants (TAs). We know that care workers bring a wealth of experience in supporting others, and your skills in empathy, patience, and resilience are invaluable in education. If you're passionate about helping others grow and succeed, this could be the perfect role for you!
Why Care Workers Make Great Teaching Assistants
Care workers have the unique ability to provide nurturing, personalized support to those in need—qualities that are essential in the classroom. As a TA, you’ll work closely with students, supporting their academic, emotional, and social development. Your experience in caring for individuals, especially in building trust and encouraging independence, directly translates to helping children flourish in their school journey.
Responsibilities
* Supporting Students: Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning, provide tailored support, and help them develop confidence.
* Classroom Assistance: Aid teachers in preparing materials, managing classroom activities, and maintaining a positive, inclusive learning environment.
* Encouraging Development: Use your skills to support students with special educational needs (SEN) and emotional challenges, helping them build independence, resilience, and social skills.
* Building Relationships: Foster positive, trusting relationships with students, teachers, and parents, creating a safe space where each student feels supported and valued.
What We’re Looking For
* Empathy and Patience: As a care worker, you know the importance of understanding and patience—qualities that are essential in supporting young learners.
* Communication Skills: You’ll communicate regularly with students, teachers, and parents, so strong verbal and listening skills are essential.
* Flexibility and Resilience: Every day in a school environment is different. Adaptability and resilience will help you manage the challenges and rewards that come with working with children.
* Experience in Care: Prior experience in the care sector is highly valued. Whether you've worked with the elderly, those with disabilities, or in healthcare, the skills you've developed in observation, support, and encouragement are a strong match for this role.
Qualifications
While formal teaching assistant qualifications (such as a Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are beneficial, we welcome applicants with care industry backgrounds who are eager to make a positive impact in education. Training will be provided for successful candidates.
What We Offer
* A Supportive Environment: Join a team of dedicated professionals who value collaboration and support.
* Opportunities for Growth: Access training and development to further your skills, with opportunities to progress to Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) roles.
* Work-Life Balance: Enjoy regular working hours aligned with the school year, allowing for a clear work-life balance.
If you're ready to bring your caring heart and hands-on experience to a school environment, we would love to hear from you! Apply today and take the next step in your career, making a difference in the lives of young people every day.
