Senior Pastoral Support Officer
Working Hours: Ideally 37 hours a week term time. 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday, 8.00am to 3.30pm Friday. With 30 minutes unpaid lunch each day.
Exact hours could be negotiable with the right candidateSalary: Hay Pay Grade Q Fixed Point - Actual Salary £34,252 (£40,000 FTE)We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic, and influential colleague to lead a team of Pastoral Support Officers who support students so they can overcome challenges, manage feelings, self-regulate and access learning. The successful candidate will:

Experience of safeguarding young people.
Experience working with secondary age young people in an educational setting is essential, but experience in a directly comparable role isn’t necessarily required. We would welcome applications from people with experience of different kinds. This post would suit someone looking for a varied and high energy role that really makes a difference to young people. The role will involve:
Leading a team of Pastoral Support Officers who:
Provide one-to-one and group support for students experiencing barriers to learning such as anxiety or personal trauma.
Intervene with students who are dysregulated to de-escalate situations and promote good behaviour.
Supervise students who are working outside of lessons, ensuring students are on task and learning well.
Are on call for periods of time to intervene with young people showing disruptive behaviour in lessons.
Liaising with colleagues inside and outside of the school to provide the best opportunities for young people.
Triaging and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns, acting as a Deputy Designated safeguarding Officer.
Lead Early Help and other similar processes. Liaising with parents and staff and completing required forms
