Love book-keeping? Love the creative industries? Love the idea of leading the finance function for an agile, people-focused, mission-driven company? Love working remotely? We might have just the job for you....
A bit about us -
Mastered has been launching and accelerating the careers of creators since 2015. We're proud to have supported more than 6,000 creatives from 95 different countries in that time - making us one of the biggest centres for training creatives in the country (and beyond). And it still feels like we've only just got started on our mission to power creatives and creativity.
We offer government-funded Skills Bootcamps and corporate training to massive companies like Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, Google Deepmind, and more than 20 other VFX and games studios - as well as for individual creators and managers in the creative industries in many topics from AI to Unreal Engine.
What you'll be doing -
This is a lovely role for a Finance Manager as we bring more of the finance function in-house as the company continues to grow. We are now 20+ permanent in-house, plus a further 30+ associate coaches and mentors who work with us regularly.
The Finance Manager will be responsible for book-keeping, payables and receivables management, tracking of coach/mentor/consultant costs, month-end, reporting to the executive team and peers, forecasting, finance queries, managing and improving our systems and processes, and working with our external management accountants. You'll report directly into the directors of the company, with no unnecessary layers of management or bureaucracy.
This is a role for a do-er, ideally suited to someone who has done junior work and is looking to step up and take on more responsibilities and grow. This is not a c-level or executive position, all about strategy and planning. You'll be at the coal-face and in the weeds, doing the heavy lifting which makes the company run.
What we're looking for
* Previous experience as a finance manager and/or bookkeeper for at least 3-5 years
* Experience of a finance function in a consultancy/people based business would help
* Previous experience and passion for the creative industries is a big plus
* Proficiency in Xero and spreadsheets is a must. Experience of Airtable would be a lovely bonus
* Someone who loves to be in the detail and making sure data is accurate
* Ability to work independently, remotely and adaptably (we're not micro-managers!)
* Someone who is a good collaborator and adds to the team culture that we have built here
You don't need to be an accountant or have a degree from a fancy university either.
We're expecting to pay around £30-35K for this role, which could be higher based on experience.
