Chapter Student Housing business comprises nine investment and development properties in key Central London locations Argent Related on its major regeneration scheme for Tottenham Hale in London British Land on their Canada Water development, on the management of Broadgate Estate and together with their joint venture partner on the sale of 5 Broadgate to CK Asset Holdings for £1 billion Brookfield on numerous UK investments and financing transactions including on the acquisition of CityPoint Tower, London and the pre-letting of 100 Bishopsgate, London Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) on their investment into three UK development projects at Paradise Circus, Birmingham, Wellington Place, Leeds and Milton Park, Didcot, with joint venture partner Hermes Real Estate Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP) on the creation of a £500 million 'build-to-rent' (BTR) residential property joint venture with Long Harbour Key Performance Indicators: Positive feedback from members of the Real Estate team and other HSF fee-earners and staff Key Responsibilities: Running a large scale due diligence exercise on the buyer side, including managing data site requests and an enquiries raising process for multiple teams Coordinating dissemination to multiple internal and external teams Help with the logistics of preparing and updating a large number of certificates of title and lease reports Producing initial drafts of client reports and assisting with the preparation of documents Preparing and submitting SDLT returns and Land Registry applications Carrying out and disseminating search results Other administrative tasks as required Qualifications, skills and experience: Law degree or other undergraduate degree (ideally 2.1 or first class honours) Exposure to Real Estate law, through degree / LPC / SQE or previous employment Previous paralegal work (or similar) within the Real Estate sector, ideally in a large law firm Experience creating and managing data rooms or large scale transactions, including use of HiQ and Sharepoint Experience ordering standard searches and dealing with Land Registry processes Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications Team Real Estate Working Pattern Full time Location London Contract type Permanent Contract Diversity & Inclusion At Herbert Smith Freehills you will be part of a diverse, innovative culture where high performance, client focus and highly engaged people are our differentiator.
