We are currently looking for a Project Manager (Road Surfacing) to join our fantastic team based out of the Tarmac Whitwood Office in Castleford, near Leeds. As well as Leeds, this site is accessible from Wakefield, Pontefract, Rothwell, Dewsbury, Garforth, and the surrounding areas.

Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the Operations Manager, as the Project Manager (Road Surfacing), you will oversee and manage the effective allocation of resources and be responsible for the effective management and delivery of more than one project at a time, including our long-term contract with Amey on the Sheffield PFI. You will provide leadership, guidance, and direction to the Operations teams to ensure that all stated objectives, aims, and targets are achieved, including all financial returns and full compliance with safety and business policies and procedures.
1. Manage, improve, and comply with all HSQE requirements.
2. Lead and ensure delivery of assigned projects.
3. Drive the effective management of any exposure to both financial and contractual risk, maximizing financial return on all contracts and ensuring prompt cash collection within contract provisions.
4. Develop and maintain key customer relationships.
5. Drive performance improvements and share best practices across the business.
6. Effectively manage, coach, and develop all direct reports and drive full employee engagement.
7. Site management.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for the role of Project Manager (Road Surfacing) will demonstrate proven project management experience gained ideally within the Contracting industry and Highways Maintenance. You will also be qualified by experience relating to industry standards and/or possess good Higher Education Achievement (HND/HNC Level) or Degree.
Suitable candidates for the role of Project Manager (Road Surfacing) will also have:
1. Project Management process knowledge and experience.
2. Health & Safety NEBOSH or IOSH Certified.
3. Operational technical knowledge.
4. Ability to estimate and scope work.
5. Proven ability to collaborate.
6. Self-awareness.
7. Resilience.
8. Ability to manage complex situations in a resourceful manner.
9. Commitment to ensure accountability and develop talent across the region.
10. Numerate with good financial understanding.
