Our stunning new home, Statham Manor Care Centre, is a purpose-built care facility situated in the picturesque village of Lymm in the heart of Cheshire. The home is registered to provide care to 66 residents with a variety of care needs, including residential and nursing care. It offers the highest standards of safety, comfort, and care, reflecting the New Care vision. We invest in the latest technology and offer a purposeful programme of daily activities and gentle exercises to enhance residents' experience, care, and wellbeing. All team members are carefully selected for their warmth and passion, undergo a full induction, and receive ongoing training from our in-house trainers in conjunction with the New Care Academy. The home is rated GOOD in all domains by CQC. We have not used agency staff for over 3 years, employing a permanent staff team to ensure continuity of care from staff who know and residents who trust them. Across New Care, all staff are paid the national living wage or above.
We are seeking to appoint a kind, organised, and motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The role involves assisting with meal preparation for residents and external visitors. A 35-hour contract is available at an hourly rate of £11.44. Shift times are 08:00-19:00, with alternate weekends working.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Assist with food preparation and cooking for daily menus as directed by the Head Chef / Assistant Chef.
2. Ensure that all kitchen equipment and areas are cleaned according to schedules.
3. Maintain compliance with Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, COSHH, and HACCP requirements and legislation at all times.
4. Follow instructions from the Head Chef and Chef.
5. Undertake pot washing duties daily.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Previous experience in food services is desirable.
2. Experience working in a busy kitchen environment as part of a team is desirable.
3. Effective communication with team members is essential.
4. A willingness to learn is essential.
5. No formal qualifications are required as training and development are provided.
