Reporting the Senior Project Manager, your role as the Senior Quantity Surveyor is to be Yokogawa focal point for contractual and commercial matters. You will join our Project Management Office to support our continuing growth and provide expert guidance to the project cost management team within their assigned projects, while safeguarding the position of Yokogawa in any cost or schedule related discussions. Yokogawa are looking for a forward thinking and passionate Senior Quantity Surveyor that ideally has worked on large scale Construction, Design and Management projects with experience of NEC4 and Bespoke forms of contract. This will be a pivotal position within the PMO team, providing support to large scale individual projects or multiple small/medium projects. You will ensure all projects are running in line with budgeted forecast and maximised to increase profit through good commercial acumen and effective contract and supplier management. You will be responsible to manage the progress of all accounts, both client and sub-contract, through to finalisation. With the support of the Quantity Surveyors allocated to the projects you will have commercial control of all allocated projects, including the provision of timely submission of valuations, invoicing, payments, CVR reporting, payment of the supply chain, forecasting and budget setting for the project. You will ensure that forecasts are achieved or exceeded where possible to ensure maximum profitability and value for Yokogawa and our clients. Also ensuring the Senior Project Manager and Operations Manager are appraised of all progress. You will be responsible for providing governance, constancy and ensuring commercial compliance of the Quantity Surveyors day-to-day activities whilst they are supporting their individual projects. In conjunction with the operational team, you will drive productivity, identify opportunity to ensure that Yokogawa GB goals are achieved. In conjunction with the Procurement Team, you will ensure that the procurement of sub-contractors and suppliers is undertaken in a timely and cost-effective manner and manage the timely production of the main/sub-contract final accounts, including re-measurement as necessary to ensure the best result, evaluation and agreement of all variations, extensions of time, loss and expense claims. Establishing friendly, professional and appropriate relationships with clients, colleagues and other parties involved in the projects and programmes we support. Administering a variety of contracts in accordance with project objectives and policies. Providing accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting to completion in line with budget. Pro-actively monitoring and managing cost variance and contract cash flow and ensuring that applications are made correctly and in a timely manner. Collaborating with client and contractor teams to manage the delivery of project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives, including programme performance, cost control, and value engineering. Managing contract change effectively, ensuring that projects remain within governance and adopt best practice. Driving improvements in the accuracy of forecasts and budgets. Proactively providing sound commercial knowledge and support to all stakeholders. Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed. Leading people and commercial matters as needed. Contract Management (NEC4, Option A, C and E) Previous experience or a sound and suitable understanding of the following will be a distinct advantage in applying for this role: Excellent communication Cost Management Change management and control valuation Risk Management Procurement Estimating Pricing Reporting Collaborative approach and best-for-project attitude Sharing best practice People management CVR, CPI and SPI management Identifying and driving efficiencies and improvements through the project life cycle. Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management and value engineering. The role is permanent and based at Yokogawa Head Office in Runcorn. To be considered for this role, you will: Experience in a similar role within Construction, Design and Management projects. This would be EPC with Electrical (LV/MV, Control, Instrumentation, Mechanical and Civil scope of works within the Oil & Gas and Energy sectors. Ideally Degree qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant subject Ideally hold or be working towards an appropriate professional body membership or equivalent. Working experience of NEC contracts Experience of commercially running multiple small projects or one project up to £50 Million.
