Building Surveyor

Salary: £44, - £52,
Hours: 36 per week
We have an exciting opportunity for Surveyors to join the Area Based and Low-Rise Block Management team.
Area Based Regeneration Team
You will assist in the development and implementation of a mixed tenure housing service. You will deliver a £40m year on year area-based building fabric improvement programme which includes projects delivering repairs, maintenance and energy efficiency improvements on low rise mixed tenure tenement blocks where the Council has an interest as a co-owner/landlord.
You will be responsible for assisting in securing private owner agreement and delivering common repairs and investment projects of an approximate value of £2m. Experience of contract administration and delivery of construction projects is essential alongside an ability to think strategically and work with stakeholders to develop innovative approaches to delivering investment to private and Council tenant homes.
Low Rise Block Management Service
You will assist in the development and implementation of this Service from the outset. You will plan and deliver the workload and programmes using innovative approaches to delivery, existing data to inform plans, develop strategies and consider policy changes that may benefit improvements to our tenants’ homes. You must have a customer centred approach, and you will have opportunity to supervise and mentor Surveying Assistants and Apprentices as part of their role.
You will be responsible for the delivery of capital works to ensure our housing stock is sustainable for the future, including fabric improvement on housing blocks, both fully Council owned and Mixed tenure blocks and cyclical replacement of elements such as Kitchens and Bathrooms, Windows, Doors and Entry systems. You will also manage Estates improvement works and Adaptations working closely with the local Housing teams to ensure communication and engagement is a key part of all projects.
