In this role, you’ll provide tailored support to students with autism, PDA, OCD, ADHD, and other complex needs, helping them thrive in a structured and nurturing environment. Position Details: Location: Borehamwood, Hertfordshire Hours: 09:00 – 16:00, Monday to Friday Salary: £84 - £90/day (including 12.07% holiday pay) Contract: Temp to Perm Your Role as an SEN Learning Support Assistant: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students to engage with the curriculum, develop essential life skills, and build confidence. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff, you will help implement individualised education and care plans, with a focus on the SPELL framework. Key Responsibilities: Provide specialist support to students with autism and complex needs to help them reach their full potential. Assist in implementing Personalised Learning Outcomes (PLOs), behaviour support profiles, risk assessments, and communication plans. Use non-confrontational, non-directive strategies to support students effectively. Adapt resources and materials to ensure students can fully engage with the curriculum. Keep accurate records of student progress and contribute to assessments and reviews. Promote best safeguarding practices, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students. Assist with personal care, therapy sessions, and daily routines as necessary. Supervise and engage students during breaks, educational visits, and extracurricular activities. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and parents, to provide holistic support. Help with classroom organisation and preparation, ensuring a structured and engaging learning environment. Skills & Requirements: Essential: Experience working with children with autism, ADHD, PDA, OCD, or other complex needs. Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting students with SEN. Strong communication skills with students, teachers, and parents. Understanding of child development, autism, and safeguarding principles. GCSE English and Maths (Grade A-C or equivalent). Ability to commute to Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.
