A brilliant opportunity for an experienced Senior Analyst to join our Commissioning Service, working across Adult and Children’s Social Care and our Domestic Abuse Team to develop and improve services for residents.

You’ll be pivotal in helping us to embed business intelligence in our practice using relational databases, SQL-based reporting, SharePoint and the Power Platform to ensure we have access to the right information to make decisions and drive change.
You’ll give clear guidance to senior colleagues, and internal and external stakeholders, and you’ll be able to represent the service on operational and strategic boards.
This role is ideal for someone with experience of public sector business intelligence or contract management, with great IT skills.
This role may be suitable for home working, following an assessment.

Main Responsibility
* Support the Commissioning Service and Domestic Abuse team as they work to improve intelligence, performance and outcomes that benefit local people.
* Help us develop policies and procedures and value for money analysis that helps to deliver the Council’s strategic aims and objectives, particularly the Domestic Abuse Strategy and Action Plan.
* Lead reporting activity to identify trends, variations from agreed targets, and other relevant benchmarks.
* Drive forward the digital ambitions for the service by developing systems and strategies for performance management.
* Research, implement and manage the most effective methods of data collection, storage, and analysis, considering the impact of new technologies and bearing in mind the uses to which data will finally be put.
The Ideal Candidate
* Familiar with the work of public sector e.g. local government, our stakeholders and the communities we serve. You’ll understand the role of data and BI in developing services and achieving outcomes for our residents. If you have experience of working with social care or other statutory datasets, this will be an advantage.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent in statistics or information management.
* Self-motivated and keen to expand their skills, with evidence of up-to-date knowledge of relevant professional developments and ability and willingness to continue professional development in the field.
* Able to think strategically and conceptually and to apply such thinking to practical outcomes.
* Demonstrate experience within a SharePoint environment, including creating and managing lists with data relationships, creating custom forms for data input and creating and developing SharePoint sites.
* Experience of working with Framework or Liquidlogic databases and be able to use analytical tools such as SQL, SSRS or other SQL reporting tools and the Power Platform (particularly PowerApps & Power Automate). If you have a project management qualification such as PRINCE2 or equivalent training, this will be an advantage.
* Able to communicate with different audiences clearly and effectively, influencing and persuading stakeholders and partners and encouraging participation.
