Job Description
Are you passionate about precision and quality? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of Formula 1 manufacturing processes, particularly composites? We are looking for a skilled Composite Inspector to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality for our cutting-edge components.
As a Composite Inspector, Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:
1. To measure and check parts for conformance to specification and performing other metrology and analysis tasks. Components could be made by any of the prevailing techniques used in Formula 1 vehicle manufacture – but predominantly Composites.
2. Applying knowledge of manufacturing technologies to aid in inspection of Composite components.
3. Use of metrology tools and methods; visual inspection, hand tools, programming and operating CMMs, use of Absolute/Romer arms (probing and scanning), shadowgraphs, surface testers and contour tracing machines.
4. Ensure that parts are inspected and processed during the required time periods.
5. Show excellent communication skills in reporting pertinent information to designers, manufacturers and other members of the team.
6. Effective organisation along with a proactive approach to using procedures that encourage continuous improvement. You will take pride in your work and be able to operate with minimum supervision.
7. Be flexible to provide support in metallic quality control if required.
We are looking for a Composite Inspector with the following skills and experience:
1. Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent experience in a similar environment.
2. Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
3. Previous experience with Absolute arms, Leica trackers (Polyworks software), and CMMs (Polyworks) is highly advantageous.
4. Experience in working with composite components, particularly in high-performance automotive or motorsport environments.
5. Being able to work independently and efficiently, while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
6. Self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
Please note this role is working on a Friday-Sunday weekend shift.
