As part of our 2025 growth plan, we are excited to be recruiting a new position, Head of Projects within our Facilities Management (FM) sector. Reporting to the Head of Commercial, this leadership role oversees a diverse range of projects, spanning from minor asset renewals to significant capital projects, with an annual portfolio turnover of £5 million. This role focuses on quality, safety, and sustainability and is vital for furthering our strategic aims across healthcare, education, and other sectors.

What you will be doing?
1. Lead and grow the in house project delivery team
2. Lead the 12-month and 5-year work planning process capturing asset conditions and prioritising work.
3. Refresh and improve systems and procedures to effectively manage all aspects of project delivery inclusive of quality controls, CDM and internal administration.
4. Build and develop in-house resources to increase self delivery.
5. Take ownership and accountability of commercial results on projects
6. Direction and appointment of approved consultants
7. Prepare specifications and tenders, lead selection and procurement of sub-contract packages
8. Implement management and monitoring procedures to cover all aspects of design, specification, procurement, delivery and handover of projects
9. Chair and minute internal and external meetings including but not limited to – site progress, safety, team, design and sub-contract meetings
10. Arrange decants and access into tenant-occupied areas
11. Produce all necessary reports for internal and external functions
12. Motivate and support the site team and sub-contractors to deliver all targets and objectives
13. Rationalise an asset renewal strategy, balanced against run to failure and reactive replacement.
14. Carry out any other reasonable tasks which may be required from time to time and to enable the company to remain adaptable to changing markets and needs
15. Take the lead in CDM15 including construction phase plans.
16. Be part of the on-call / out-of-hours escalation level 3.
17. Leading all procurement of supply chain relevant to the role
18. Directly manage the EWFM subcontractor supply chain across the portfolio demonstrating value for money and best practice procurement.
19. Update CAFM or other IT platforms as required.
20. Prepare and execute and act as Contract Administrator for JCT or other similar contracts to appoint contractors.

What we're looking for?
Aligned to our ethos and values, the successful candidate must have ;
22. Experienced in FM Projects: Preferably with a background in healthcare and education sectors.
23. Technically Skilled: Knowledgeable in construction operations, standards, and specifications, with qualifications such as CSCS and SMSTS.
24. Commercially astute : Skilled in cost-benefit analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
25. An Effective Communicator and Leader: Adept at team management and capable of motivating diverse teams towards common goals.
26. PFI/LIFT Experience: is advantageous.
