An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Medical Division here at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (Northern services) for a 12-month secondment contract. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic motivated senior nurse with expertise in Emergency Care and clinical leadership to join our friendly Emergency Department (ED) in the role of Clinical Matron for Emergency Care.
About the Role
As Clinical Matron for Emergency Care your portfolio of work will oversee the Emergency Department at North Devon District Hospital (NDDH). You will line manage and support the nursing team and governance co-ordinator within the Emergency Department and this will feed into the divisional clinical strategy and the governance structure. This post will strengthen the clinical leadership and multi-professional pathways for our patients across acute and community services. You will be expected to work in partnership with the other matrons in the division and across the organisation to support delivery of the quality agenda and maintain patient flow.
If successful in application you will be an integral member of the division's management team and the senior nursing team, developing a clear nursing vision for our patients and staff. On a rotational basis you will be part of Clinical Matron rota covering a Duty Matron role giving the opportunity to support all acute teams across the Trust. You will also have the opportunity to expand your operational management through the out of hours by joining the silver command duty manager rota providing support and guidance for the Clinical Site Managers.

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months. For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.
