The Kent Autistic Trust is an outstanding care provider supporting autistic adults across Kent for over 30 years. We provide a range of services including residential care, supported living, day opportunities and family support. We are looking for an experienced and professional Registered Home Manager to lead a Registered Adult Service in Swale. The service offers superb, purpose built modern residential accommodation currently for 5 autistic adults. Our tenants participate in a wide range of activities and enjoy walks along the coast, going out for dinner, baking, working on the services allotment, cycling and chatting about their own interests as well as listening to of all kinds of music. The role requires a hands-on leader who has a genuine desire to ensure that we provide a safe and secure environment and who is committed to ensuring that our tenants can express their individuality through meaningful activities to maximise their unique development needs. The service operates 24/7 with three shift teams comprising earlies, lates and night support staff. The normal working week for this role will be Monday-Friday 9-5 and the manager will also be required to participate in the On Call Rota. Some flexibility will be required around your normal hours to meet service needs which may include some occasional shift work where you will need to observe practices and ensure standards are being maintained across the service. The manager will work closely with the Regional Manager to achieve our quality vision. We are looking for a strong and visible leader with a minimum of two years experience of coaching and developing a specialist care support team, with an emphasis on practice leadership. In this role you will need to be someone who will act where they see a problem or opportunity. You will be expected to quickly adapt to challenging situations to ensure that we keep people safe and manage risk positively. You will already be experienced in the application of regulatory requirements, such as The Care Act and Health and Social Care Act and be knowledgeable about relevant legal frameworks such as Safeguarding, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards applications, MCA (capacity and best interests). Ideally you will already hold a Level 5 Health and Social Care Qualification or equivalent. We do not accept applications made via agencies.
