Role Description:
The qualified applicant will become part of Quartz Core Platform's Grid team that is building and re-architecting a distributed compute platform that is geographically spread out and running over a billion tasks for thousands of applications a day.
We are looking for someone with extensive experience in building grid compute and/or container management systems at large scale across multiple geographic regions.
To own and independently implement one part of a complex project while collaborating effectively with the owners of the other parts.
Responsibilities:
The Quartz Platform team is starting a core refresh of the platform to modernize with capabilities required to meet our users’ future needs. We are looking to add experienced software engineers with solid CS knowledge and proof of delivery on at least one large project in a relevant area (in a PhD or prior job).
What we are looking for:
1. C++
2. Python
3. Linux SA Experience
4. Process distribution and management
5. OCI Images/Containers
6. Deep experience with at least a few of the following: podman, docker, kubernetes, etc.
Skills that will help:
1. Networking and serialization protocols
2. Security & PKI
3. Linux Kernel Internals
4. Data marshaling/optimizations
5. DevOps automation
