An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced band 5 nurse to work with the Cardiac Surgery Research Team to deliver a new study funded by Kidney Research UK.
This role will involve significant patient contact, including patient recruitment, scheduling sampling, data collection, and completing follow-up for this important study. There will also be opportunities to work alongside senior nurses on a variety of other studies. Senior nurses will support full training and development, providing the necessary skills and experience to progress within the research nurse career pathway.
Great organizational skills will be required to manage a detailed scheduling pathway for patient sampling. Attention to detail is key to completing trial activities according to the study protocol and ensuring the collection of high-quality data and samples.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, will be essential to complete the consent process and record detailed data for the study. Experience of working in acute care settings, such as intensive care or coronary care, with patients receiving invasive monitoring, is necessary to ensure that samples are taken safely during the acute phase of the patient stay.
Other duties will involve supporting the delivery of other cardiac surgery studies with guidance from the senior research nurses in the team.
