About the role
Due to internal promotion, we have an exciting new opportunity for a Lead Nurse (Independent Prescriber) position in Devon, where you will play a crucial role in leading, developing and implementing exemplary clinical practice.
In addition, you will be managing a team of Independent Prescribers and will support the Clinical Service Lead in ensuring that healthcare interventions are successfully delivered to reduce substance related harm.
Waythrough clinical teams are supported by a multi-disciplinary Clinical Central Department. There is regular clinical supervision, appraisal, and support with revalidation, as well as generous CPD time and annual leave.

As an Independent Prescriber, you will be responsible for:
* The day to day operational management of nursing and related clinical services (and related contractual and organisational KPIs).
* Leading on harm reduction and healthcare strategies for the service including; Hepatitis B/C, Needle Syringe Protocols, Naloxone, wound management, liver health, COPD and other conditions relating to harm caused by substance use.
About you
To succeed as a Lead Nurse, the essential criteria includes:
* First-level registered nurse.
* Independent prescriber qualification.
* RCGP qualifications in substance misuse (or willing to work towards).
* Experience of working within substance misuse (desirable).
