Uniserve, a leader in the logistics and supply chain industry, is expanding its European services and seeking a dedicated Senior European Operator to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to step into a role where you will develop and manage logistics services with the autonomy to grow new services as if they were your own business.
Role Overview
As a Senior European Operator, you will be at the forefront of our European road and multimodal operations, driving efficiency, ensuring client satisfaction, and contributing to the commercial success of our services. You will bring a minimum of five years’ experience in the field, with a strong grasp of freight operations, cost calculations, and customs procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Client Engagement: Actively promote Uniserve’s European services to both prospective and existing clients, ensuring client needs are met with high levels of service.
* Operational Management: Use One World as the primary operating system to manage and monitor all shipments, ensuring accurate and timely entry into the platform.
* Freight Operations: Plan and manage groupage, part load, and full load trailers for both imports and exports, coordinating with overseas partners and suppliers to arrange transportation.
* Customs Documentation: Prepare and oversee the submission of customs documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Financial Oversight: Ensure all files are correctly costed, charged, and completed, with prompt raising of sales invoices and accurate allocation of all expected costs.
* Reporting & Analysis: Monitor and report new and lost clients on a weekly basis, providing insights to supervisors and management.
Essential Qualifications:
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years in European road freight operations, with proficiency in cost management and a comprehensive understanding of freight terms.
* Technical Skills: Strong capability in calculating cube, loading metres, and chargeable weight, with a basic understanding of customs procedures.
* Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to understand accounting processes and exhibit commercial awareness to maximise profitability.
* Communication: Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Organisational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and organisational ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
