Our award-winning team delivers essential bus services to the communities of Angus, Fife, and Perthshire with over 30 million journeys made each year for work, school, shopping, healthcare, and leisure. East Scotland’s commercial team shapes our network of services and manages our data to ensure customers and stakeholders have accurate information.
One of the team is off to pastures new, so we have a vacancy to join our busy commercial team. This crucial role provides the opportunity to directly and positively impact our staff and customers. If you enjoy puzzles, figuring out patterns and trends, and working with data, then you might be ideal for this job.
You’ll spend most of your time:
1. Working closely with our teams at the depot to identify opportunities to improve our network for the benefit of our community.
2. Developing effective and efficient timetables, bus, and staffing schedules to achieve these opportunities.
3. Ensuring all our data is correct and accurate before exporting to our web and app to keep our customers and stakeholders well-informed.
These are the fundamental elements of the role, but there’s so much more to the job. You’ll always have something a bit different to work on, and the opportunity to shape our network and how we allocate resources can drive tangible change for our business, employees, and our passengers.
You’ll be joining a team of over 1,200 colleagues across East Scotland and be part of the bigger Stagecoach Group, all working to serve our communities and offering you the opportunity to develop your career.
Experience in the industry and some understanding of the creation of timetables and schedules is desirable but not essential. For a technical job, you’ll be comfortable using Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel, and can quickly learn our other bespoke systems; don’t worry though, they are pretty easy to learn and full training is provided! In return, you’ll be working for a close-knit commercial team. We’ll give you 33 days paid holiday, access to a contributory pension, access to employee benefits and wellbeing programmes, and of course, free travel on all Stagecoach bus services.
Stagecoach is proudly an inclusive employer, striving for a culture where everyone can be themselves and where all the differences people bring are truly appreciated. We welcome applications from all, irrespective of gender, ethnicity, race, religion, beliefs, disability, neurodiversity, sexual orientation, or age.
