We are looking for a highly experienced Development Director to lead an outstanding development programme to support the financial future of the RSC, growing new sources of funding and building committed relationships with donors and partners.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Director will work closely with the Co-Artistic Directors and leadership team, the Governors and RSC America .
Key responsibilities will include (please see the full job description and person specification for the comprehensive details):
* Inspiring, leading and managing the Development team to achieve fundraising targets for revenue and capital projects
* Engaging and supporting the Board, Governors and other senior stakeholders
* Liaising with the US charity, RSC America
* Working with Senior Leadership colleagues to create innovative partnerships with businesses and maximise brand opportunities
To be suitable for this role, you will need:
* Demonstrable experience in leading a team to achieve ambitious income targets
* Senior level fundraising experience with a track record of building effective relationships
* Experience of leading major gift programmes and campaigns in a leading institution
* Experience of working with North American and other international donors
* Worked or be working in leadership in a complex organisation in arts, charity, education or similar with direct reports and cross-functional teams
Location, working hours and salary
This is a full time (40 hours per week), permanent position, based in London or Stratford-upon-Avon but with work across different locations. To fulfil the requirements of the role, a significant presence in Stratford-upon-Avon is required to provide visible leadership and to attend performances and events. Given the nature of our work, there will be occasional evening and weekend working. This role will require some national and international travel.
£90-100k depending upon experience, plus benefits .
