Recruitment Specialist | Camira - Designers & manufacturers of sustainable textiles
About our company

Purpose of the role
To collect and prepare a range of samples entering the laboratory for testing in accordance with the appropriate standards and in line with ISO 17025. To ensure that all samples are stored in an ordered and structured manner within the conditioning room and are accompanied by the corresponding test documentation.
The day to day
* Adhere to the Camira Code of Conduct and comply with all relevant quality, environmental, health & safety, data protection, and corporate legislative requirements.
* Support the laboratory team in the preparation of all samples submitted to the laboratory for testing in line with their associated test standards/work instructions and corresponding test documentation.
* Maintain test templates ensuring compliance against test standards.
* Manage and maintain the storage of fabric/yarn within the laboratory, preventing the build-up of remnant fabric and ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained.
* Complete in-house testing in accordance with health and safety procedures, guaranteeing the safety of both self and other laboratory workers.
* Use the internal helpdesk system to determine individual testing requirements and ensure good customer satisfaction by providing regular progress updates, indicating lead times and completion dates when necessary.
* Ensure that the required documentation is in place for all chemicals within the laboratory and that said chemicals are stored correctly. Complete and document consumable conformity checks.
* Provide advice and guidance regarding testing status to internal customers/business in general to ensure that a high service level is maintained across the business.
* Perform product testing under the surveillance of external auditors/customers.
Other considerations
* Knowledge of woven fabrics would be an advantage.
* Experience of working in a laboratory would be an advantage.
* Good software skills – Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Methodical approach.
* Ability to perform manual handling tasks, lifting rolls of fabric.
* Good colour acuity/recognition.
