COMPETITIVE SALARY
Progress Rail is looking to recruit a Network Engineer to design and implement functional network infrastructure and security, providing first and second level technical support to all internal clients/employees. The position monitors, troubleshoots, and diagnoses network performance, confidentiality, integrity and availability.
THE ROLE:
As a Network Engineer your duties will include:
* Engineering projects to address and resolve business needs
* Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
* Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices
* Monitor network performance and integrity
* Resolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure
* Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
* Mentor team members on technical issues
* Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)
* Communicate with users when needed
* Maintain complete technical documentation
* Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability
THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal Network Engineer:
* IT related degree qualification
* 5+ years IT related work experience
* Strong networking background with a focus on Cisco routers and switches hardware
* Extensive knowledge and experience of Core Routing and Switching design, configuration, and troubleshooting
* Routing protocols OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, ISIS
* WAN connectivity
* Spanning-tree, Port Channels, Load balancing,
* Multicast PIM Sparse/Dense, MSDP, NAT
* Experience with: LiveNX, Solarwinds, InfoBlox, Cisco ISE, Cisco DNA, Linux, Python/Automation and ServiceNow.
* Quality Of Service understanding and configuration, able to customize across all Cisco platforms to support Voice, Video, and selected applications
* Excellent understanding of VPN - site to site, client, IPSEC (including the protocol suite), IKE, DMVPN, tunnel modes, Tunnels between ASAs, Routers* Knowledge and experience of Network Security, including the design, configuration, and tuning of Cisco and Palo Alto appliances
* Strong background in wireless communication design, configuration *Wireless site assessment and audit
* Perform network modelling, analysis, and planning
* MPLS traffic engineering design, configuration, and troubleshooting
* LDP, TDP, RSVP Label distribution
* MPBGP-VPNv4, Multi-VRF and VRF-Lite
* Extensive knowledge of Datacenter design utilizing the Nexus product line
* Cisco Application Centric Networking
* Strong knowledge of the Cisco ASR 9000 product line
