Summary As a Ranger, you’re a champion of nature conservation and the great outdoors, and you’ll play a crucial role in keeping the nation’s beloved countryside and coast in good shape, for wildlife and for people. You should be willing to work some weekends, bank holidays and evenings, and be on call. Your working week will typically be 5 days over 7, retaining the same 2 days off each week. Early morning and evening work will sometimes be required, to reflect the nature of Gull monitoring work. The post is a physically demanding one within a challenging environment. Click here for more information about this location Working alongside the Area Rangers and Rangers, you will focus on developing an accurate monitoring program for Gulls and predation. You will supervise and guide volunteers and Assistant Rangers to meaningfully contribute to this program. You will be a reliable and proactive member of the team, with a strong grasp of health and safety and compliance. You will also be comfortable with lone working with a diligent, consistent and flexible approach to performing fieldwork. What you'll be doing You’ll be helping to protect and care for habitats, wildlife, buildings and machinery. You’ll pass on your knowledge and enthusiasm to encourage others to love this area as much as you do. Whenever and wherever you come across people, you’ll take the time to talk to them and answer their questions, rather than rushing away to the next task. You’ll make sure that the conservation work and outdoor experiences on the land in your care are of the highest standard. You’ll build relationships in the local community, proudly representing the Trust and letting people know about the work you and the team are doing.
