My client, a leading supply chain finance tech solution provider, is seeking a Legal Counsel to play a crucial role in providing legal support to the business as they continue to expand our operations internationally. This role will work closely with their Legal team and various business functions to ensure that operations comply with all relevant UK laws and regulations and across several international jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
* Support the Head of Legal in their duties to advise and partner with every function from across the business on a wide range of matters.
* Be a trusted legal advisor to our commercial teams to help establish, maintain, and expand business relationships whilst providing input into new products and initiatives.
* Identify legal risks and propose strategies to mitigate them, including the development and implementation of internal processes, policies and procedures.
* Support with corporate governance matters, including compliance with corporate laws and regulations.
* Develop and deliver legal training programs to internal functions to ensure awareness of legal and regulatory requirements.
* Conduct legal research on various topics, including emerging legal issues in fintech, and provide recommendations to the legal team and senior stakeholders.
Qualifications
* Qualified Solicitor in [England and Wales or India], 3 - 5 years PQE.
* Demonstrable experience in a start-up/scale up environment is essential.
* Relevant in-house legal experience in fintech, financial services or a related industry.
* Strong commercial awareness – be a business enabler with a solution focused mindset.
* Passionate about leveraging technology in order to strengthen and streamline operations.
* Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Proactive attitude and ability to be agile in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
