Registered Nurse - School Immunisation Service - Norfolk
We are currently seeking NMC Registered nurses and midwives to work for us on a bank basis during the flu season. The post holder will be responsible for undertaking clinical duties relating to immunisation, delivered on-site in primary and secondary schools and in community clinic settings. Our nurses work mainly from Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:30 - 15:00/15:30 with some evening and Saturday clinic work available. Saturdays are paid at time and a third. The salary advertised for the post is pro-rata.
Main duties of the job
1. Vaccinate 20 to 25 school children per hour (flu season).
2. Work collaboratively to support the team, organisation, and company stakeholders, to facilitate the smooth continuity of service delivery.
Job responsibilities
1. Promote and support the operation of our School Aged Immunisation Service.
2. Support Programme Managers, Team Lead and Clinical Lead as applicable.
3. Attend sites across different locations as applicable.
4. Deliver an effective, evidence-based and competent level of care to patients.
5. Participate in clinical supervision and the performance and development of staff.
6. Ensure all clinical incidents, near misses and complaints are reported, monitored and processed in line with organisational policies and procedures.
7. Participate in audits, making recommendations based on findings and sharing outcomes with the team for learning.
8. Attend clinical supervision with the Clinical Lead as directed.
9. Actively and constructively contribute to team meetings.
10. Undertake Gillick Competency Assessments and take verbal consent from parents and caregivers.
11. Undertake other duties commensurate with the level of this position.
12. Comply with Company policies & procedures.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Nurses and Midwives currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
* Nursing and/or Midwifery Qualification.
* Must be able to drive.
Experience
* Evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Working within PGD frameworks.
* Understanding of the Routine National Immunisation schedule.
* Understands and implements the principles of informed consent.
* Cold chain, ordering, and arranging transport.
* Must be able to drive (Desirable).
Knowledge and skills
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
* Customer service and people management skills.
* Assertive, team player and critical thinker.
* Must be able to drive.
