Start Date: December 2024 We are looking for a pro-active HR Advisor with UK specific experience, who will be working with managers and colleagues in UK and Ireland. The role will report to the UK and Ireland Country Lead and will work closely with them and the HR Administrator to help ensure compliance with employment law and best practices. This role would be well suited to an HR Advisor or Generalist seeking experience in a new environment, or a well-rounded experienced HR Administrator with exposure to advisory work, looking for their next step. Key Responsibilities Provide support and advice on UK employee relations issues, actively leading on discipline, grievances, performance, absence management and redundancies as required Involvement in processes related to immigration and right to work Working closely with managers and colleagues to provide support and guidance on HR issues, global HR processes and changes to employment legislation, including supporting the Country Lead in delivering information sessions, creating template letters, emails and other communications Participate in culture transformation by having a visible presence in the office and regularly speaking to colleagues and managers Offer 'open door' and provide advice to employees on work related issues with empathy and professionalism Partner with the internal functions including Payroll, Finance and IT, collaborating with HR Business Partners and HR centres of excellence when needed Help maintain data in the HRIS system Support the Country Lead with other ad-hoc projects in the UK and Ireland Skills & Experience CIPD qualified (or working towards it) Previous experience in an advisory role desirable Clear communicator in written and spoken English, comfortable with presenting and having difficult conversations on sensitive subjects Someone who keeps up to date with changes in UK Employment law and best practices Hands on experience of employee relations cases including redundancy consultation processes, protected conversations, capability and performance and disciplinary cases Strong customer service skills – all colleagues and managers are our customers Friendly, approachable and empathetic with good listening skills and ability to be a trusted advisor to first line managers Team player able to build strong relationships across boundaries Good attention to detail and ability to check the work of others Ability to mentor and help assist the personal development of the HR Administrator At RWS, we’re here for one purpose: unlocking global understanding.
