Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join the team on Clwyd Ward which is a 22 bedded Enhanced Recovery Ward. Enhanced recovery is a modern, surgically-led, evidence-based approach that helps patients undergoing surgery get back to health as soon as possible following your operation. Patients who are under the enhanced recovery pathway are discharged from hospital when safe - this could be on the same day as surgery.
You will provide high quality nursing care within a multidisciplinary environment, to ensure individualised and effective care is practiced.
Main duties of the job
1. To be an accountable and professional registered adult nurse.
2. To work within a team and to work on your own initiative when required.
3. To be able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
4. To administer medication under prescription once completed competencies.
5. To monitor and escalate signs of deterioration.
6. To prepare and manage patients pre and post operatively.
7. To identify areas for quality improvement.
8. To escalate concerns in relation to patient care delivery when they fall below expected standard.
