Job Overview:
The FLT Driver/Production Operative will be responsible for operating a Forklift (FLT) to move materials within the production area and assist with production tasks. This role requires FLT driving experience to transport goods and ensure they are stored properly, as well as supporting production operations such as packing, quality checks, and maintaining accurate records. Following safety procedures, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and working efficiently with the team to meet production goals are essential to the role.
Key Responsibilities:
FLT Driving and Material Handling:
Operate an FLT to move raw materials, components, and finished products within the warehouse and production area.
Safely transport goods to the correct locations for storage or further processing.
Ensure proper organization of materials and products, maintaining an efficient workflow.
Report any issues with FLT equipment, product handling, or safety to the supervisor. Production Support:
Assist in production tasks, including packing, labeling, and quality checking of products.
Monitor production processes and ensure products meet quality standards.
Help maintain and operate production machinery and equipment as required.
Ensure that all packing and production activities are completed to the required specifications. Documentation and Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of stock movements, product status, and any issues encountered during production.
Complete necessary production paperwork and update inventory systems as required.
Ensure all documentation is correctly filled out and filed for traceability and reporting purposes. Maintenance and Cleanliness:
Keep the warehouse, production area, and FLT in a clean and safe condition.
Perform basic maintenance and checks on FLT and production equipment.
Ensure all work is done in accordance with health, safety, and quality regulations. Teamwork:
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth and efficient operations within the warehouse and production areas.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to report progress and resolve any issues. Key Requirements:
Proven FLT driving experience is essential.
Experience in a production or manufacturing environment is preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
Strong attention to detail and focus on maintaining high-quality standards.
Good organizational skills with the ability to keep track of inventory and documentation.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Flexibility to work day and night shifts, including weekends, as needed. Shift Pattern:
Week 1: 60 hours
Week 2: 24 hours
Continental Shift Pattern: Includes both day and night shifts, each lasting 12 hours. Pay Rate:
Hourly Rate: £14.06 per hour during training; increases to £14.64 per hour after successful completion of training.
