Our client, a leading fabrication company in the offshore industry, is seeking a Rolling Stock Coordinator to join their growing team at their busy North East facility. This position is ideal for a graduate with a background in logistics, materials/production planning, or coordination. With ideally 2 years of relevant experience, the successful candidate will play a key role in managing fleet operations to support uninterrupted production.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee daily fleet operations on-site, coordinating with all departments to ensure their needs are met and production runs smoothly.
2. Develop, manage, and implement processes for the safe and efficient operation of vehicles on-site, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and health and safety standards.
3. Assess and recommend new equipment purchases to optimize fleet performance and reduce downtime.
4. Monitor fleet expenditure, making decisions based on long-term financial projections to ensure optimal fleet utilization and cost-saving strategies.
5. Analyze fuel and fleet usage to implement solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize overall performance.
6. Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule, resolve, and address any fleet issues, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
7. Support the Transport Manager with the daily collection of data and adjust site transport plans as required.
Person Specification:
1. A background in materials planning, production planning, or logistics coordination is preferred.
2. Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across various departments.
3. Experience or a background in engineering, manufacturing, or construction is beneficial.
4. Self-starter with a proactive approach to seeking information and problem-solving.
5. Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
6. A keen interest in learning site operations and understanding departmental needs.
7. Excellent timekeeping and organizational skills.
8. A safety and quality-driven mindset.
9. IPAF and IOSH certifications are desirable but not essential.
10. Knowledge of industrial vehicles and relevant legislation is preferable.
11. A degree-level qualification is highly desirable but not essential.
