Cambridge Regional College have an exciting opportunity for an Trainer in Hairdressing to join our Service Industries Work Based Learning team in Cambridge. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated industry specialist to be involved in the training and assessment of the region’s future aspiring Hairdressers, through the Adult and Apprenticeship programmes at Cambridge Regional College. This position involves the reviewing, mentoring, assessing, and supporting of our Apprentices and their employers. The primary role will be assessing students for their Knowledge, Skills and Behaviors against the Qualifications and Apprenticeship Standards both at work and while they are training, building them to gateway and supporting them through End Point Assessment. Reporting to the Work Based Learning Manager, you will be required to support learners in line with College procedures and maintain accurate written and computer-generated records for learners. You must be able to competently demonstrate a wide range of personal and industry sector skills to ensure effective support for the learners, employers and the team. What we are looking for in our role: Appropriate industry qualifications to Level 3 or relevant experience are essential. An assessor qualification is desirable, you must be willing to work towards An IQA qualification is desirable. Prior experience in a similar role would be beneficial but not essential; comprehensive training would be available to the right candidate who can demonstrate commitment to the role. Ability to work flexibly when required including evening, weekend, and summer holiday periods. In possession of a current driving license, and be willing to use own car, insured for business use, or alternative means to travel extensively. Related industry Health and Safety and Safeguarding legislation knowledge. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail, organised, and a motivated team player.
