We're currently working exclusively with a leading defence client is looking for a Solution Architect to join one of their most prominent divisions, to drive forward the tech transformation of the division.
They offer Hybrid working with weekly office attendance, and you can be based in Bristol, Glasgow, Portsmouth or Merton.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Architecting Solutions: Define the solution architecture and design tailored to meet specific business and system requirements, all within project constraints of cost, time, and the agreed-upon architectural framework.
* Leading with Authority: Provide technical authority and leadership over the IM&T solution and its development team, ensuring that architecture and design requirements are met and communicated effectively across the project team.
* Managing Design Governance: Oversee design management, guiding change and configuration management processes to ensure adherence to standards.
* Mapping Architectures: Document both the as-is and to-be application, data, and technology architectures for each assigned project to ensure alignment with project objectives.
* Supporting Project Plans: Collaborate closely with project managers to develop comprehensive project plans, assist with estimate and schedule reviews, and assess risks, ensuring all steps align with project goals.
Your Skills and Experiences:
Essential:
* Architecture Frameworks Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge and experience with architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF.
* IM&T Lifecycle Familiarity: In-depth understanding of the IM&T/software development lifecycle, including Agile methodologies, with familiarity in reviews, policies, standards, and governance.
* Application Development Experience: Proven background in designing, developing, and deploying major IM&T applications that effectively support business processes.
Desirable:
* Technical Breadth: Familiarity with IM&T business systems, including Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) across design, engineering, procurement, supplier management, and manufacturing functions.
