As we continue to grow, we seek an Commercial Manager to oversee our internal commercial functions, ensuring financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
Role Overview
The Commercial Manager is responsible for managing the business’s internal commercial needs, including employee Scopes of Work, charge-out rates, and cost and price analysis. This role plays a critical part in the financial and risk management of our projects, ensuring robust commercial governance from tender to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Financial Management
* Develop and manage employee Scopes of Work to ensure clarity in responsibilities and deliverables.
* Establish and maintain accurate employee charge-out rates, ensuring financial viability.
* Conduct cost and price analysis for project estimates, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Assess project profitability, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
* Ensure robust financial calculations support project estimates and budget planning.
Risk & Compliance
* Independently assess cost, risk, and profitability of projects.
* Monitor financial and commercial risks, implementing mitigation strategies.
* Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and contractual obligations.
Process Improvement & Strategy
* Develop and implement program cost control goals, policies, and procedures.
* Continuously improve commercial strategies to enhance business profitability.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders to refine financial forecasting and cost management.
Tender & Contract Management
* Assist in the preparation of tenders and project proposals.
* Negotiate and manage contracts to ensure financial and operational efficiency.
* Support project teams with commercial insights and strategic recommendations.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
* years of experience in commercial management, finance, or cost control within a project-based industry.
* Experience in cost estimation, pricing models, and risk assessment.
* Strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of charge-out rates, profitability, and cost control.
