Project Manager for the Diabetes Strategic Clinical Network

National Strategic Clinical Networks (NSCN) are an essential national vehicle for joint working between key stakeholders including NHS Wales, Welsh Government and the third sector to improve the outcomes and experience for the population of Wales. Integral to this is the need for continuous improvement and transformational change across a range of our services and approaches and the role of the Strategic Clinical Network is to support this at national, regional and local levels.
This role provides an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to act as a Project Manager for exciting projects of work within the National Strategic Clinical Network (NSCN) for Diabetes in supporting health boards/trusts to improve the delivery of key health services across Wales.
Working closely with the Diabetes Network Support Manager and core Network team, the Diabetes Network Project Manager will be managing specific projects whilst ensuring the success and effectiveness of the objects are delivered upon as set by the NSCN for Diabetes.
Main duties of the job
* Provide and receive complex, sensitive and contentious information orally, in writing and electronically to inform work to directorates, divisions, stakeholders and the public.
* Negotiate and motivate teams on project delivery including linking in with other projects and programmes in the team and teams and divisions in the organisation.
* Communicate sensitive information about performance and change.
* Build and manage delivery plans in line with project/programme methodology.
* Liaise, develop and build relationships and effective lines of communication with key partners.
* Summarise reports and other key documents.
* Design and deliver routine and complex formal presentations to large groups.

Job responsibilities
This post is based within the National Strategic Clinical Network for Diabetes. The Project Manager will work within the Diabetes network but also across a multi-disciplinary and wide range of stakeholders, sectors and agencies to develop a portfolio and body of work around improving services to meet the needs of people at risk of and who have a diagnosis of Diabetes.
The Project Manager will work closely with others across other Strategic Clinical Networks and the wider NHS Wales Executive, to ensure that integrated and consistent approaches are developed across Wales, making the best use of available resource, while operating in compliance with the organisations governance policies and procedures.
The Project Manager will apply a strong working insight into sectors and services that support people at risk and with Diabetes across Wales.
The role requires an understanding of project management methodologies and techniques, excellent communication, organisation and negotiation skills, the ability to work autonomously and with initiative, with a positive attitude to problem solving.

Qualifications
* Prince 2 Practitioner, Agile Project Management or equivalent qualification or experience.
* APM Project Management Qualification.
Experience
* Experience of communicating with all levels of professional staff and the public.
* Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive data and appropriate maintenance and storage of records.
* Experience of working with services, agencies, or programmes that support the health and wellbeing of children and young people.
* Experience of operating Microsoft Office Suite.
* Experience of producing management information reports.
* Experience of project implementation and monitoring ongoing projects.
* Experience of managing, maintaining and developing systems and procedures.
* Experience of implementing administrative policies and procedures.
* Experience of managing finance systems e.g budget monitoring.
