Position Description
Position Summary:
These positions care for the Laundry Operations for the campus during the school year. They complete all aspects of the laundry operations from collection of dirty laundry to the delivery of clean laundry. They do laundry for Dining Services, Campus and Building Services, Athletics, and various other departments.
Major Responsibilities
1. Process laundry from Dining Services, Campus and Building Services, Athletics, etc. which includes running the washers and dryers and folding laundry.
2. Coordinating the pickup of dirty laundry and delivery of clean laundry.
3. Lifting up to 50 lbs.
4. Effectively communicating with supervisors of other departments.
5. Maintain equipment/clean lint filters.
6. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
Minimum Requirements
Experience Required:
Valid Driver’s License required and must be able to be an approved driver for campus vehicles.
Experience Preferred: Any previous employment, laundry work a plus.
Skills and Characteristics Required:
Self-motivated. This worker should be flexible and able to take direction. The ability to work with people and to approach their peers is a trait that is needed for this job. Accept responsibility freely, as well as maintain good leadership skills. Have pride in themselves as well as the work they do. This student should be able to work independently of supervision.
Dress Code Requirements
Khaki or denim slacks or shorts, closed-toed shoes. No clothing or jewelry with dangling items that could get caught in equipment. No pajamas, yoga pants, or sweat pants.
Special Working Conditions
1. Valid driver’s license required and must be able to be an approved driver on campus.
2. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
3. Weekend and evening work required.
4. May have to work on evenings before classes resume after a break.
5. Must be able to work with chemicals and equipment used by the Campus and Building Services department.
6. Must be able to follow instructions.
7. Must be able to lift, bend, reach, and kneel.
