Job description
Safran Landing Systems is the world leader in aircraft landing and braking systems. We design, test, manufacture and assemble landing gear used on commercial aircraft including Airbus and Boeing, and UK military aircraft such as the Eurofighter Typhoon. Gloucester is home to the UK division and has been a leader of cutting edge landing gear technology for over 90 years.
What will I be doing?
The purpose of this role is to support the program, industrial and quality teams to ensure surveillance KPI's are met.
Working as part of a small, yet busy multi-disciplined team, you will:
1. Use your prior knowledge of Special Processes (Heat Treat, NDT, Shot peen, Chemical Processing, Coatings, Grinding, etc) to evaluate, select and ensure ongoing compliance to new and existing Suppliers.
2. Offer support during supplier selection and new program launches.
3. Conduct Investigations and formally report findings within Safran and to our Customers using standard quality tools such as 8D, etc.
4. Administer continuous Improvement Techniques (FMEA, Gauge R & R, SPC, etc).
5. Ensure efficient / effective closure of RCCA.
6. Support FAIR / DVI reviews and approvals, incorporating APQP.
7. Provide support to internal teams as necessary.
8. Promote and use Lean principles in all Special Processing activities.
9. Review and approve manufacturing data.
10. Update and maintain Quality systems and SharePoint sites.
The successful candidate will bring experience of Special Processes. This role will be both technically and business focused, working closely with Subject matter experts to define Quality standards, exception management processes, and escalation processes as well as ensuring all systems / databases are managed with updated information as necessary.
Travel specifictity
Gloucester based with occasional global travel to suppliers and other Safran sites.
