Field Tech Support Engineer (Company Van Provided)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Tech Support Engineer to work for a forward-thinking and fast-growing business that specializes in laser marking and engraving solutions. This role could suit candidates from a range of backgrounds including, but not limited to, Technical Support Engineer, Equipment Engineer, Photocopier Engineer, Telecoms Engineer, IT Support Engineer, Electrical Technician, Electromechanical Engineer, etc.
The company designs and manufactures laser coding and marking equipment for a diverse client base, including SMEs and Blue-Chip businesses globally. Full training for the role will be provided, giving you the opportunity to develop your skills and experience. Career development and progression opportunities will be available.
Technical Support Field Service Engineer Job Scope:
While primarily the role will be mostly field-based at customer sites across the UK, some days will be spent in the technical headquarters in Whitchurch, Shropshire.
Technical Support (in the field):
1. Visit customers to perform routine service and maintenance check-ups.
2. Respond to call-outs to repair faulty systems.
3. Provide customer training.
4. Conduct on-site installations, and occasionally demonstrations and trials.
Technical & Sales Support (in office):
1. Commissioning, configuration, and preparation of laser marking systems prior to site visits.
2. Preparation of appropriate equipment prior to scheduled installations or demonstrations.
3. System repairs.
4. Continuous development and training; latest software updates, hardware updates.
5. Production of customer samples.
6. Support with customer demonstrations.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Ideally have previous experience in a similar role (e.g., Technical Support Engineer, Equipment Engineer, Photocopier Engineer, Telecoms Engineer, IT Support Engineer, Electrical Technician, Electromechanical Engineer, etc.).
2. Good IT skills required, including Microsoft Office. Experience in installing/configuring software would be an advantage but is not essential.
3. Basic technical knowledge; mechanical, electrical, electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics.
4. Naturally inquisitive with technical ability.
5. Have a real thirst for knowledge and a desire to learn and develop.
6. Ability to remain calm and work to deadlines.
7. Relishes responsibility; is confident, humble, and honest.
8. Full UK driving licence.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £28,000.00 - £35,000.00 per year
