We are currently looking for a SSD Supervisor to work in our busy Sterile Services Department. The department provides an important service within the Hospital, decontaminating and sterilizing surgical instruments for the Operating Theatres/Wards, Departments and external customers. The department is fully accredited to European Standards and works within a Quality System. The department has various shifts, which cover the 24-hour day.
To supervise/manage technicians in all functions within the decontamination process of reusable medical devices, to ensure the team objectives are achieved in providing disinfected/sterilized reusable medical devices for Operating Theatres, Wards, Clinics, External Customers and Endoscopy Departments across Cornwall & the Isle of Scilly.
To perform a full range of decontamination duties and be accountable as the duty supervisor.
To assist with the development of the department’s standard operating procedures and work instructions in accordance with quality management systems and ensure staff comply with them.
