Contract: One year initially, leading to a permanent contract
Salary: £27,510 - £37,765 per annum depending on qualifications and experience

Long-Term Teachers are working with a fantastic independent special school which provides high quality education and pastoral support for students aged 11 - 19. Ofsted rated ‘good’, our client places a strong emphasis on the social and emotional development of the students through developing strong and trusting relationships.
About the school:
Part of a service that was established by a team of SEN teachers, our client has several independent special schools and alternative provisions located across the country. They cater for students with complex behavioural, social and emotional difficulties. Our client adopts a progressive curriculum focusing on both academic and vocational routes. Their site is purpose built, with facilities for a range of subjects including food technology, motor and construction workshops and a sports hall. They also have another site based in Dartington.
About the role:
As an English teacher, you will be expected to plan and teach high quality lessons to support student progress. You will be creative and ensure all students are engaged/participate in all lessons. To ensure good or outstanding progress is made, you will set clear targets to help students build on their prior knowledge.
All students will have complex learning needs, SEMH difficulties and challenging behaviour. Therefore, it is essential that you have excellent behaviour management skills, you’re incredibly resilient and patient.
About you:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
2. Evidence of successful and recent teaching responsibility of English
3. Previous experience working with SEN is advantageous
4. You will be expected to work on outreach and at other school sites
5. Must be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle
6. A team player, who is able to establish rapport with students, staff and parents and carers
7. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
