The Role:
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join New Directions to work on a supply basis. As an LSA, you will work closely with students, including those with special educational needs, to provide tailored support in the classroom. Your role will be crucial in helping students engage with their learning, develop their skills, and achieve their academic and personal goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students with a range of learning needs, both individually and in small groups.
* Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated activities.
* Help students develop their social, emotional, and academic skills.
* Provide one-on-one support for students who may need additional help with tasks.
* Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
* Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
* Assist with classroom management, ensuring all students are safe, focused, and engaged.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, other LSAs, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students.
* Support students during break times and extracurricular activities where necessary.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with children, ideally in a school or educational setting.
* A compassionate and patient approach to working with students.
* Understanding of special educational needs (SEN) is desirable but not essential.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
* A flexible and proactive approach to supporting students and staff.
* An understanding of the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* A relevant qualification in Education, Special Needs, or Child Development is desirable but not required.
