An exciting opportunity has arisen for part-time Healthcare Assistants Band 2 to join our Evening and Overnight District Nursing Team. We are looking for adaptable, reliable and hardworking individuals to join our great team. The Evening and Overnight District Nursing Service (ENDNS) is part of the Integrated Community Teams, providing out-of-hours community nursing provision. The role of the healthcare assistant is to work alongside the registered nurse for the service, visiting community nursing patients for unplanned priority visits in the out-of-hours period. The service currently operates with three twilight teams and two-night teams, covering priority unscheduled visits to patients from 7 PM until 8 AM. The healthcare assistant will work either twilight (7 PM until 1 AM) or night shifts (10 PM until 8 AM). We have three part-time posts available, and shift patterns can be discussed at interview. Main Responsibilities: Driving, route planning, and organisation of equipment/supplies. Being a chaperone to the registered nurse. Working alongside the registered nurse to provide support for patients as directed, including manual handling tasks and personal care. Long periods of driving to deliver care to patients in their own homes throughout the county. Application Details: Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the prospect of undertaking a Level 3 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship, including the Level 3 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare. All successful applicants will receive direct supervision and partake in regular reflective practice/training to meet the Care Certificate standards. Operational Duties: Managing stock rotation of overnight supplies using a proforma for guidance. Checking equipment and stock levels, medical devices, and equipment service dates. Adhering to the trust's policy around driving a trust vehicle, including visual checks, refuelling, and mileage documentation. Equipping the pool car for shifts, including completing checklists and ensuring necessary equipment is available. Patient Care Responsibilities: Supporting the registered nurse in providing personal care in patients' homes, including cleaning, washing, and changing bedding as requested. Manual handling of patients, including transferring from bed to chair using slide sheets, hoists, or stand aids as directed by the nurse.
