ReviewSolicitors is a legal review platform focused on enhancing transparency and trust within the legal sector. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Credit Controller/Bookkeeper to join our finance team. This crucial role involves accurately managing our financial transactions, ensuring the smooth operation of our direct debit systems, and company payments. The successful candidate must be familiar and confident with using XERO.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Transaction Management: Accurately classify and record financial transactions using Xero accounting software, ensuring all financial data is correctly entered and maintained.
* Direct Debit Management: Set up and manage direct debit arrangements for our law firm clients, efficiently resolving any related queries or issues.
* Debt Recovery: Actively pursue overdue payments and manage cancelled direct debits, employing effective strategies to recover outstanding debts while maintaining professional client relationships.
* Audit and Compliance: Conduct bi-annual audit checks on our law firm clients to ensure correct payments have been made, initiating timely recovery of any unpaid funds.
* Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare accurate financial reports and analyses as required, assisting with the month-end closing process and financial statement preparation.
* Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders, providing support and information related to financial transactions and direct debits.
* Process Improvement: Continually seek ways to enhance financial processes and systems, contributing to the development and implementation of new procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a Credit Controller, Bookkeeper, or similar role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
* Proficiency in Xero accounting software and familiarity with other financial systems.
* Exceptional organisational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining positive relationships with clients and team members.
* A meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Experience in the legal sector and working with law firms would be an advantage.
Working Hours and Salary:
* The first two weeks have the working hours of 09:00 - 18:00 Monday to Thursday, and 09:00 - 16:00 on Fridays.
* After your first two weeks you can start anytime between 07.30-09.30. You simply work 8 hours Monday to Thursday, and 6 hours on Fridays with a choice of a 30 minute or one hour lunch.
* This is an office-based role, but we are open to considering candidates seeking part-time hours to accommodate other commitments, such as childcare.
* Salary range: £35,000 - £40,000 (pro-rata for part-time positions).
