Oakley Food Projects are here to meet the needs of food, drink and pharmaceutical manufacturers in the UK looking to move, expand and future-proof their production facilities. We are looking for a a highly skilled Pre-Construction Manager to oversee the initial stages of construction projects, ensuring that all aspects are meticulously planned and executed. In this role you will coordinate between internal operations and our clients through the pre-construction phase of a project, coordinating internal and external resources to ensure the best outcomes for the client, fitting seamlessly with our clients to become an extension of their project team to ensure we deliver exactly what they want. Responsibilities Develop client briefs and work alongside the Sales Director, attend site visits as necessary to meet new and existing clients and sub-contractors. Build and develop the Pre-Contracts team and strategy in line with the overall business strategy. Able to work with with others in a fast pace environment. Liaise with clients and provide regular updates on progress during pre-construction stages. Maintain highest standards of accuracy and attention to detail in costing to ensure we are providing both competitive and deliverable schemes. Project programming and procurement. Co-ordinating resource planning on projects. Oversee and control the handover to Operations upon finalisation of design/ scope. Full estimating and financial control on project until handover to Operations. Building appraisals including services assessments. Form part of the ‘Pitch Team’ on specific projects. Evidence of good project management skills and demonstrable experience and achievements in a Pre-construction role. Strong Sales/Commercial experience and good commercial acumen. Creation of compelling customer propositions, with excellent negotiation and influencing skills. Leadership skills for motivating others and maintaining positive and safe work environments Excellent relationship building and communication skills, being able to communicate with all parties involved - colleagues, clients and sub-contractors. Have a practical mindset and knows what good looks like. Confident and competent with Microsoft Excel to create costing sheets. Attention to detail with a good understanding of financial forecasting/estimating. Confident and competent to act on own initiative. High standard of organisation and time management. Problem-solving abilities to produce creative solutions to complex design challenges. A winning mentality. Flexibility and the ability to establish priorities and change them when needed. Ability to respond well to criticism and maintain a positive attitude. This is an office based role, with regular visits to client’s premises throughout the UK. Monday to Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-4pm with 60-minute unpaid lunch break. £60,000 - £80,000 per annum
