We have an exciting opportunity to join our urology clinical specialist team within the field of benign urology.
The post holder will be able to work as an autonomous practitioner, to provide nurse-led clinical activity within the benign urology team structure. The post would include activities such as diagnostic procedures including Urodynamics, Lower urinary tract symptom assessment, and prostate volume measurement. Support one-stop clinical assessment of patients undergoing bladder outflow surgery.
The post would also include the delivery of intravesical treatments for benign bladder conditions, supporting patients performing self-trial without catheter post-surgery, and supporting the Trial without catheter clinic. Additionally, you will work alongside and support the band 4 urology nursing associate.
Full training would be given to the successful candidate.
The urology services are carried out on 3 hospital sites within HHFT.
Responsibilities
To practise autonomously, carrying a caseload of patients, supporting the team in the delivery of a seven-day, twenty-four-hour service for which you are responsible for or have been delegated the responsibility, this includes:
* High standards of Professional Practice to ensure quality and safety of patient care, experience, and the patient journey.
* Specialised clinical practice, knowledge, skills, and experience.
* Supporting the Team Leader in the Productivity and Financial management of a clinical area.
* Leading by example.
* Supporting and contributing to the team in ensuring that clinical services are delivered to a high quality of care and that all compliance requirements such as CQC and contractual requirements are achieved.
* Effective Leadership.
Analytical and Judgement Skills
To undertake the comprehensive assessment of patients including those with a complex presentation where factors may be conflicting, requiring high-level analysis and interpretation skills and the comparison of a range of options to achieve effective treatment or discharge planning.
