About The Role Working with a variety of stakeholders, you will transform services and deliver positive outcomes for Newham’s Care Act eligible residents - putting in place safe, high-quality, value-for-money services that enable residents to improve their health and wellbeing, safe in their own home. You will be responsible for: Delivering significant transformation across the Supported Living Pathway through all stages of the Commissioning Cycle; Embedding our newly developed outcomes focused monitoring approach that will maximise resident independence and value for money; Contract managing our commissioned service and overseeing commissioning related activity to facilitate continuous improvement; Managing a small team of Commissioning / Contracts Officers; Designing and procuring new Supporting Living Services through the newly establish Dynamic Purchasing Vehicle (DPV); Working closely with Operational colleagues to ensure that our residents receive the best possible services to meet their individual needs. About You You will have: Knowledge and experience of Adult Social Care; Experience in all aspects of the commissioning cycle and be able to critically appraise service delivery to develop innovative solutions; Experience of writing and presenting detailed and well-reasoned reports and business cases to senior management boards; Experience and ability to manage a small staff team; The ability to contract manage and establish effective working relationships and with key stakeholders including local Providers and residents; Strong organisational / ’political’ awareness and record of successfully delivering and influencing organisational change. About Us The London Borough of Newham is located only 5 miles east of London. It is well positioned with access to all major networks in London and the south east. It is well connected by public transport with, bus, tube and DLR. When the Crossrail service opens it will call at Custom House close to our council offices and also Stratford station and from there to central London. The London City Airport which serves major European cities is located at Royal Albert Dock. Newham has the youngest overall population in the country. It was one of the six host boroughs for the 2012 Summer Olympics and contains most of the Olympic Park including the London Stadium.
