The Listening Service is a highly respected community chaplaincy service that enables patients referred from primary and secondary care to explore various situational challenges in their lives with professionally trained and supervised volunteer listeners. These challenges can include loss, bereavement, work stressors, challenging family relationships or chronic illness. You will be based in the Ardler Clinic alongside the Support Officer for the service, but will be required to travel across Tayside to meet with listeners, GP practice and other teams, deliver training and provide listening service appointments where needed. Full training in this model of care will be provided if not already completed by the applicant. You must be able to demonstrate an understanding of spiritual care and competence for the post by reflecting on previous experience of coordinating services or projects (ideally which will include managing volunteers), experience of delivering training is also desirable. You will be required to comply with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland throughout your employment.
