Post 1 -Permanent 37.5 hrs per week, Monday to Friday
Post 2 - 12 month fixed term (covering Maternity Leave) 30 hrs perweek, Monday to Friday

An opportunity has risen for two highlymotivated MDT Co-ordinators to join our Cancer Services team at BarnsleyHospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will work to organise and takeminutes during multiple weekly meetings, monitor patient pathways in line withlocal, regional, and national cancer targets, collect data, and coordinateresults. In addition to these tasks, you will also handle a range of generaladministrative duties to ensure we provide first-class care and treatment forour cancer patients. Your role is vital in maintaining the high standards ofcare at Barnsley Hospital.

Main duties of the job
The purpose of this role is toprovide administrative and data collection support to the nine tumour specificMulti Disciplinary Teams (MDTs).
Organising MDT meetings including venue arrangements, preparation,collation and distribution of papers utilising information from MDT leads, CNSsand Support services (Pathology & Radiology) and recording minutes andattendance logs
- Tracking confirmed cancer cases and urgent suspected cancerpatients to ensure treatment in line with local, regional and national targets,escalating to the appropriate teams about potential delays that could resultsin breaches
- Facilitation of the referral and transfer of patients toTertiary Treatment Centres, ensuring the relevant documentation is availableand following up on patients discuss in MDT to ensure timely implementation ofactions and next steps
- Support the capture and submission of the Cancer OutcomesServices Dataset (COSD) and national audit data by ensuring cancer wait times arerecorded timely and accurately and uploaded to the national database
There will be an element of performingvarious administrative duties to support the MDT and ensure the smoothoperation of cancer services. The exact nature and extent of that support willbe agreed by the MDT Lead, Lead Cancer Manager and the MDT Co-ordinator.

Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent
* Medical secretary training
Experience
* Experience in using different word processing packages
* Previous experience in working with patient records
* Previous experience of working in a cancer care setting
* Previous NHS experience
Knowledge and Awareness
* Appreciation of confidentiality issues
* Sound knowledge of working in the NHS
* Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
* Knowledge of Excel/Access databases
* Knowledge of the specialty MDTs
* Knowledge of the NHS Cancer Plan
Personal Attributes
* Well organised and able to produce accurate and timely work
* Flexible approach to duties including attendance at MDT meetings
