Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Portuguese speaking Management Accountant to join our growing Accountancy & Finance function in Glasgow. As a Portuguese Speaking Management Accountant, you will be responsible for leading the centralisation of work from regional finance teams across Latin America and the USA to Glasgow, ensuring monthly accounting procedures are completed accurately and within agreed timelines. You will also help drive process improvements and support team development.
How you'll make an impact
* Lead the centralising of accounting work to the Glasgow Accounting Centre.
* Work effectively with colleagues both locally in Glasgow and remotely in Latin America and the US.
* Handle accounting functions including revenue, payroll, AP, treasury, and management accounting.
* Produce accurate management accounts and relevant commentary.
* Prepare and review reconciliations to verify management accounts' accuracy and perform variance analysis.
* Prepare and review monthly reporting packs and ad hoc reports as requested.
* Assist and support responses to external and internal audit requests.
* Research technical accounting matters under US GAAP and regional GAAPs.
* Cooperate with the off-shore processing team on reconciliations and outsourced functions.
* Support Finance Business Partners and other departments with queries.
* Ensure SOX compliance.
* Assist the Finance Manager with ad-hoc projects and technical tasks, leading some project elements.
* Help standardise finance systems across the region.
About You
* Fluency in Portuguese & English.
* Qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
* US GAAP experience – highly desirable.
* SOX experience preferred.
* Ability to manage priorities within deadlines.
* Attention to detail.
* Flexible with multiple tasks and environments.
* Experience in process redesign and implementation.
* Eligible to work in the UK.
