Job Description: As a Production Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery, ensuring the production process runs smoothly and efficiently. You will play a crucial role in maintaining product quality and meeting production targets. Full training will be provided; however, experience operating semi-automated production lines in food or pharmaceutical environments would be advantageous.
Work Pattern: We operate to a rotating shift pattern as follows: 06:45-14:45 (Monday to Thursday) and 06:45-13:45 (Friday), followed by 14:30-22:30 (Monday to Thursday) and 13:30-20:30 (Friday). Saturday morning shift overtime available occasionally.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
2. Check that all products are produced within the defined limits of quality, quantity, and efficiency.
3. Ensure that all line documentation and sampling systems are completed correctly.
4. Ensure that good manufacturing practices are observed at all times.
5. Complete product changeovers and line component clean down operations in a timely manner.
6. Monitor and reduce wastage, rejects, stock discrepancies, and be responsible for the reconciliation of yields.
7. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimise production processes.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Highly literate with a good level of conversational and written English.
2. Highly numerate.
3. Ability to operate machinery and use hand tools.
4. Experience completing traceability paperwork.
5. Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment (pharmaceutical/food manufacture preferred).
6. Experience in a GMP/FMCG environment (preferred).
7. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
8. Organised and methodical.
9. Good communication and teamwork abilities.
10. Ability to work to deadlines.
11. Willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
