Syncsmith is a relationship driven and service orientated Music Consultancy, focused on providing a tailored audio acquisition service to the TV, Film, Automotive, Fashion and Creative Industries. They are approachable, energetic and small enough to provide enhanced levels of service and a hand-forged end product. From an ever-expanding intelligent catalogue, they can provide their high-profile clients (Apple, Nike, Range Rover, Dior, Burberry etc.) with experimental music and more immersive avant-garde material for their special projects. They also provide sound design, bespoke composition and production services to meet with anamorphic and on-screen content. Their aim is to remove the burden from the creative directors, producers and music supervisors by providing a disruptive and avant-garde source of material to enhance and support emotive visual projects. They represent individual artists, recording labels, composers and sound design specialists whilst providing commissionable services for bespoke audible content. Role Overview: The successful candidate will have demonstrable expertise within music supervision (may also suit key account manager, art buyer, producer with demonstrable network across the creative industries) and will approach the role energetically, maintaining their personal-brand presence within the creative domains. In exchange for a market-leading salary and annual performance-based incentives, they will be responsible for delivering the strategic objectives set by the business and supporting the founder in the delivery against pre-set targets. Potential candidates will have established relationships and a network that they can continue to develop along with securing of new key accounts across the creative markets. With access to Syncsmiths’ unique and diverse creative repertoire, the candidate will exploit their knowledge and expertise of the creative world by creating sync opportunities for artistic composition as well as the ongoing representation of back catalogue. This is a hybrid role requiring 2/3 days per week onsite in Somerset initially. The ideal candidate will be Somerset/London based or willing to relocate, assistance with relocation may be provided for the right candidate. This newly created position will be responsible for supporting the identification, development, negotiation and licensing aspects of music supervision whilst working on creative advertising campaigns, film trailers, film scores and gaming opportunities. The candidate must be knowledgeable in the music world but acutely aware of new developments in premium brand space. Key Responsibilities & Attributes: Development of personal-brand including attendance at workshops, seminars, key industry meetings Deliver a six-figure strategic growth plan for the creative markets Management of key accounts and sales pipeline to assist in the delivery of the growth plan Negotiate contracts, frameworks and strategic deals with advertising and marketing giants Build strong relationships with creative affiliates globally with the intention of developing creative opportunities Develop external interest such that the frequency (and hit rate) of pitches remains on a positive trajectory Promote and develop Syncsmith’s aesthetic, presence and output Pitching to creative agencies, advertising agencies, brand strategists and development of a professional network Implement creative promotional and marketing strategies Development of innovative PR strategies and events to enhance their value proposition and market impact Working with individual artists to develop back-catalogue and ability to compose within constrained timeframes Maintain an A&R stance such that emerging talent is identified to develop the quality of available material Maintaining regular contact with Syncsmith artists, labels and associates Manage creative briefs on an E2E basis from inception through to closure Manage Syncsmith internal cataloguing system with key information and metadata Keep up-to-date with trends in music, attend gigs, invite clients and be actively viewed as a tastemaker Skills & Experience: Bachelors or Master’s Degree (preferred) Expert knowledge of the creative markets, key stakeholders and associated protocols A record of success in procuring £50k synchronisation deals in creative advertising, film, trailers, gaming etc. Passion for music, experimental, avant-garde, neo-classical and electronic music Familiar with licensing, publishing, copyright and music rights processes and protocol Ability to work alone, adopt a self-starter role and determine own schedule Flexible, honest, hard-working and willing to step outside the 9-5 Beneficial: Music Production & Editing Skills (Logic, Ableton, Pro Tools, Cubase etc.) Video Editing Skills (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier Pro etc.) Benefits: Uncapped Bonus Scheme Pension Scheme Soho House sponsorship £250 Headphone allowance 27” iMac & Powerbook Hybrid working Allocated parking Modern Office Suite incl. on-site gym
