About the Role
We are looking for an experienced insurance professional to carry out underwriting duties for the Britannia Group. This role will work closely with our Members and brokers on all underwriting matters and involve marketing to Brokers and potential new Members.
Your Responsibilities
* Handling of assigned underwriting matters for Members by geographical area.
* Evaluation of ratings of P&I and FD&D risks for both owned and chartered existing entries or new business.
* Attend renewal meetings and support all negotiations.
* Working with the Club’s Underwriting Processing team to produce and issue clear renewal documentation.
* Provide quotations to existing Members and potential Members.
* Evaluate the balance in the rating between Members (consistent with the perceived risks and actual claims experience).
* Achieve target general increases across the Membership.
* Arrange additional insurances and reinsurances on behalf of the Membership.
* Working with the Club’s Underwriting processing team to facilitate the production of trading certificates (Blue Cards, ITOPF, SIGCo documents etc).
* Develop and maintain working relationships between Britannia and its Members (and their Brokers).
* Collaborate with internal teams (claims, risk, finance and actuarial) on related matters.

About You
Knowledge/Experience
* Relevant underwriting experience (with previous authority to underwrite) gained from an international P&I club / mutual or in marine insurance.
* Demonstrable experience of rating complex risks and drafting policy amendments.
Qualifications/Education
* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
* P&IQ or willingness to work towards qualification in the future.
Skills
* Microsoft Excel at intermediate level.
* CALM Document Management System or CLUB System.
